Black Satellites coach, Desmond Ofei says the U-20 national team must secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), labelling it a disappointment should they miss out.y
After failing in the 2023 edition, Ghana are determined to return to the tournament they last triumphed back in 2021.
But Ofei is focused on ensuring a return to the continental stage.
“We just have to find our momentum in the tournament and hit our stride at the right time. As a football-loving nation like Ghana, it would be very disheartening if we don’t qualify.”
“So for us, our ultimate aim is to qualify for the Afcon.”
The Black Satellites are set to compete in Group A of the 2024 U20 WAFU B Championship, where they will face Benin, Niger, and host nation Togo.
The tournament, which runs from October 17 to October 31, serves as the qualification pathway for the U20 AFCON in January 2025.
