Hearts of Oak coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has praised his players following their hard-fought 2-1 victory over Young Apostles in Week 6 of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
The win is their second of the campaign after six match-weeks, and their first on the road.
However, Ouattara emphasized the need for his team to stay focused and continue working hard for future success.
“Today’s match was very tough. We knew it would be difficult because Young Apostles are a strong side,” Ouattara said after the game.
“We managed to contain them and secure the three points. This is our second win of the season, but we can’t celebrate too much.
“Moving forward, the boys need to keep working hard and see what the season holds for us. It’s not easy, but we will give our best.”
In the match at the Wenchi Sports Stadium, the Phobians took the lead in the 50th minute through Emmanuel Amankwah after sustained pressure.
Young Apostles fought back, equalizing in the 84th minute with a goal from Samuel Prempeh.
However, Hearts of Oak responded swiftly, with Hamza Issah scoring just two minutes later to restore their lead and seal a dramatic 2-1 win.
The Phobans play Dreams FC and Bibiani GoldStars in their next two league games.
