Ghana exit beach soccer AFCON after conceding 11 goals in two matches

Ghana’s Beach Soccer team, the Black Sharks, have been eliminated from the ongoing Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations after suffering defeats in their first two group matches.

In their opening game, Ghana fell 6-3 to host nation Egypt, before succumbing to a 5-2 loss against Morocco, another North African opponent.

Across the two fixtures, the Black Sharks managed to score five goals but conceded 11.

Ghana are set to face Tanzania in their final group match. However, even a victory in that encounter will not be enough to secure progression to the knockout stages of the tournament.

The winner and runner-up of the competition will qualify for the 2025 Beach Soccer World Cup, set to take place in Seychelles.
