Beach Soccer: Ghana loses 2024 Afcon opener to hosts, Egypt

The Black Sharks of Ghana lost 6-3 to Egypt in the 2024 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday afternoon.

At the Hurghada Beach Soccer Arena, Ghana’s national beach football side conceded early in the game and extended their lead to 3-0 before the break.

The Sharks struggled to restore parity as Egypt took advantage of their eagerness to draw level and kept compounding matters for the Ghanaian side.

Alexander Adjetey Adjei bagged a hat-trick in the encounter but that was not enough for the Black Sharks to pick a point against the hosts.

Moving on, the national side will face Morocco and Tanzania in their remaining group games, in hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages.
