Bibiani GoldStars maintained their position at the top of the league standings with a 2-0 win against Aduana Stars at Dun’s Park on Sunday.
The Miners opened the scoring early, with Ronald Frimpong finding the net just six minutes into the match and Frimpong Manso’s side controlled the game for much of the first half, going into the break with a slender lead.
After halftime, GoldStars extended their advantage when Samuel Atta Kumi scored in the 73rd minute, effectively sealing the victory. With a comfortable 2-0 lead, the Miners ensured that Aduana Stars could not mount a comeback.
Gold Stars now enjoy a one-point lead at the top of the standings, with Asante Kotoko closely behind. Manso’s team will be pleased to extend their unbeaten run at home, marking four consecutive victories.
In contrast, Aduana Stars suffered their third defeat of the campaign, struggling to build on their previous win against Dreams FC.
Currently, they find themselves precariously positioned in the relegation zone and will look to turn their fortunes around when they host Medeama in their next match. Meanwhile, Gold Stars face a challenging away fixture against Accra Hearts of Oak.

Coach Frimpong Manso had stalwart Vincent Atinga as a centre-back and William Dankyi operating from the left-back position. Upfront Charles Gyamfi Kamara played a key role in the victory.
