Asante Kotoko’s push for a fourth straight victory was cut short by Basake Holy Stars on match-week 8 of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League the Crosby Awuah Memorial Stadium on Sunday.
Despite taking an early lead through Albert Amoah’s well-placed strike in the 36th minute, Kotoko couldn’t secure all three points.
Holy Stars fought back in the second half, equalizing in the 81st minute to snatch a crucial point and prevent Kotoko from climbing to the top of the Ghana Premier League standings.
The draw leaves Kotoko three points adrift of league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars, who clinched an impressive win over Hearts of Oak.
Kotoko will now prepare to face Legon Cities in a midweek fixture while Holy Stars play Chelsea at Berekum.
