We conceded cheap goals and did not learn from our mistakes against Angola – Otto Addo

Black Stars coach Otto Addo has expressed  disappointment following Ghana’s 1-1 draw against Niger in their second Group F match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The match, played on Monday at the Stade Municipal de Berkane, saw Ghana take the lead through Alidu Seidu, only for Niger to equalize in the 81st minute with a goal from Oumar Sako.

Speaking after the match, Addo voiced his frustration, stating that his team had failed to learn from their previous mistakes in the opener against Angola.

“We are conceding cheap goals. As I mentioned before, I am disappointed because we didn’t learn the lessons from the first game.

“This time it was from a set piece, and we should have defended better. I’m really disappointed. But it’s still in our hands.”

Ghana currently sits third in Group F with just one point after two games while Angola lead with six points.

The Black Stars are set to face Sudan in a crucial doubleheader in October.
