Samuel Inkoom: Court grants former Ghana defender one month to repay $8,000 debt

Former Black Stars defender Samuel Inkoom’s request for an extension to repay $8,000 debt has been granted by the Kwabenya Circuit Court.

The 2009 U-20 World Cup winner and 2010 World Cup representative appeared in court for the second time on charges of defrauding by false pretenses.

Inkoom informed the court that he is in the process of selling his properties to raise the funds for repayment.

His plea was accepted by presiding judge, Ms. Mavis Bedjrah, who granted him until October 31 to return the money.

According to the prosecution, led by Chief Inspector Gershon Togo Achondo, the case stems from allegations made by complainants Doris Dankwa and her fiancé, Seth Osei Addai, who sought Inkoom’s assistance in facilitating their relocation from Dubai to the United States.

Inkoom allegedly claimed that his company could secure visas for the couple’s travel and requested $4,000 from each of them. The payments, totaling $8,000, were made through Dankwa’s father, John Dadzie.

Despite receiving the funds, Inkoom failed to deliver the promised visas and allegedly ignored numerous attempts by the complainants to contact him.

After repeated police invitations went unanswered, Inkoom was eventually summoned to court via mobile phone.

The case has garnered significant public attention as the former footballer works to resolve the allegations against him.
