NSA confirms readiness of Accra and Cape Coast Stadiums for Black Stars’ matches, awaits Caf inspection

National Sports Authority (NSA) Board Chairman Seth Panwum, says the Accra Sports Stadium and Cape Coast Stadium are now fully prepared to host international matches.

The NSA top executive was addressing concerns over Ghana’s inability to find a venue for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan, in early October. This comes after Caf revoked the approval for Baba Yara Stadium earlier this month due to poor pitch conditions.

However, Panwum has urged Ghanaians to dismiss recent speculation suggesting that the Black Stars would be forced to play their upcoming home match against Sudan in Togo or Ivory Coast.

“Please disregard reports that Ghana will be forced to play its games in Togo,” Panwum stated during a session in Parliament.

“We have written to Caf requesting an inspection of our alternative venues, and all necessary improvements and requirements have been completed. We have invited Caf inspectors to assess the venues, and I can confidently say that once they approve, the Black Stars will play their home games in Ghana.”

Ghana is scheduled to face Sudan on October 7 in a crucial qualifier for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
