Henry Asante Twum reveals why Black Stars have not trained at GFA’s Prampram

Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum has revealed reasons why the Black Stars are not training at the Ghana Soccer Centre of Excellence at Prampram.

In an interview on JoySports, the communications expert cited the FA’s plans for the pitches at the Soccer Centre, and further stated that six boreholes had been installed to help maintain the available grass pitches.

“When it comes to training pitches for national teams, the head coach has the primary decision-making power. The coach decides the location based on several factors, including security.

“Currently, we have two grass pitches in Prampram and are working to add two more. Unfortunately, the Black Stars cannot train there now because the pitches are not in good condition.

“These pitches were built years ago, and the borehole project was aimed at restoring them to a usable state. However, this process requires time, significant investment, and financial resources.”

In the last five years, all other national teams have trained at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, bar the Black Stars.
