Medeama SC Head Coach Nebojsa Kapor is disappointed with the quality of the University of Ghana Sports Stadium pitch after his side’s victory against Legon Cities on Saturday.
The Mauve and Yellows defeated their hosts 1-0 via Kamaradini Mamudu’s strike in the 28th minute to record two wins after match-week two of the Ghana Premier League.
Speaking after the game, Kapor highlighted the poor standard of the pitch, adding the Baba Yara and Accra Sports Stadia as venues, football authorities should be concerned with.
“Like Baba Yara(Kumasi), Accra and Cape Coast stadia, the Legon pitch is also bad. Pitches in Ghana should be better.
“The ground should be better. This is something where there is a very big room for Ghana to improve,” Kapor said.
The Confederation of African Football(CAF) has banned the Baba Yara Sports Stadium ahead of the qualifier for the 2025 Afcon against Sudan in October.
Caf awaits a decision from Ghana’s football authorities on a venue for the game.
