Medeama SC extended their perfect start to the season with a hard-fought 2-1 win against Basake Holy Stars om match-week four at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.
The encounter remained goalless until the 58th minute when Medeama defender Kamaradini Mamudu broke the deadlock. However, Holy Stars responded quickly, equalizing just two minutes later through Isaah Yakubu.
Medeama’s forward, Diawisie Taylor, restored the lead in the 65th minute with a spectacular long-range effort, sealing the victory for the visitors.
The win marks Medeama’s third consecutive triumph, maintaining their 100% record for the season. The Mauve and Yellow defeated Accra Lions and Legon Cities in their other two games.
Despite enjoying much possession and recording more goal attempts Holy Stars were unable to capitalize on their chances.
The defeat leaves them without a win since their opening-day victory over Hearts of Oak.
Up next, Medeama SC will host Heart of Lions, while Basake Holy Stars travel to face Vision FC.
