Black Stars begin training camp in Accra ahead of AFCON 2025 qualifiers

The Black Stars have commenced their training camp in Accra as preparations intensify for the upcoming qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Ghana’s national team, under the guidance of head coach Otto Addo, will face Angola and Niger in their quest to secure a place in the prestigious tournament.

Last Thursday, Addo unveiled his squad, featuring a mix of experienced and emerging talents, with the aim of bolstering the team for the crucial fixtures.

By Sunday night, seven players had reported to camp, including Tariq Lamptey, Joseph Wollacott, Ibrahim Osman, Jonas Adjetey, Antoine Semenyo, Brandon Thomas-Asante, and Frederick Asare.

Their early arrival has allowed them to acclimate and get a head start on preparations.

On Monday morning, the squad was further strengthened by the arrival of key players, including Deputy Captain Thomas Partey and Leicester City’s Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.

The full complement of the squad is expected to be in place as training intensifies at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Coach Addo is keen to make the most of the preparation time, with the first training session scheduled for later this evening.

The coaching staff is focused on ensuring the team is in peak condition ahead of their qualifiers against Angola and Niger, as they aim to secure early victories on the road to AFCON 2025.
