Black Princesses return home after early exit from Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup

The Black Princesses have returned to Ghana following their early exit from the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.

The team, including players, the technical team, and management staff, arrived in Accra on Tuesday.

Six players – Jenna Sapong, Helen Alormenu, Alexandra Emefa Tay, Salamatu Abdulai, Tracey Twum, and Asana Alhassan – did not return to Ghana, instead joining their respective clubs directly from Colombia.

Ghana’s campaign ended at the group stage for the seventh consecutive time after finishing third in Group E with two losses and one win.

The Black Princesses suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat to tournament debutants Austria in their opening match, followed by a heavy 4-0 loss to Japan.

Despite a 3-1 victory over New Zealand in their final group game, it was not enough to secure progression to the knockout stages.
