Salifu Ibrahim signs for Kosovo’s FC Drita until 2027

Kosovo’s FC Drita have announced the free-agent signing of Ghanaian midfielder Salifu Ibrahim.

The 24-year-old, who recently completed his contract with Hearts of Oak, has committed to the club until 2027.

Salifu, who joined Hearts of Oak from Techiman Eleven Wonders in February 2021, has been a standout performer in the Ghana Premier League. He played a pivotal role in Hearts of Oak’s 2020/21 title-winning season, earning both club and league MVP honours. Over his three-year tenure with the Phobians, he made approximately 73 league and FA Cup appearances, helping the club to secure five trophies.

“Our club FC Drita is pleased to announce our newest Ghanaian player Salifu Ibrahim,” a statement read Friday.

“Salifu plays as a midfielder and comes from the Ghana Premier League where for three years he was part of the Hearts Of Oak team.”

FC Drita, who are competing in the 2024/25 Europa Conference League, will benefit from Salifu’s playmaking skills as they progress in the tournament. Earlier this week, the club advanced to the third qualifying round by eliminating Icelandic side Breiðablik.

“Salifu has been considered one of the most promising players in Ghana where and in the 2020/21 season he was announced the Ghanaian Premier League player of the year,” the statement added.

The club confirmed that Ibrahim joined the team immediately after completing his documentation.
