Omnisports Etincelle were tactically disciplined – Hasaacas coach Kwesi Mensah

Hasaacas Ladies assistant coach Emmanuel Kwesi Mensah says his side’s stalemate in the Wafu B Women’s Champions League qualifier was down to the tactical discipline of their opponents, Omnisports Etincelle.

The Ghana Women’s Super League champions drew goalless in their first game at the Stade de la Paix, Bouake and will need to win their second game to maintain their hopes of qualifying to the semifinals.

Kwesi Mensah, speaking at the post-match press conference, highlighted the quality of Omnisports and hopes for a positive response in the next game.

“Basically, we knew little about the opponent so we were cautious. From the first five minutes, my team realized they are facing a tactically disciplined team.

“And they had packed the middle and ignored going on a high press or even a high line. So it was much difficult for us to play our game and create the chances.”

Mensah continued: “We are disappointed because we have played this competition and won it too so based on that, we are not satisfied.

“But looking at how the game went, it was a fair result.”

Sekondi Hasaacas Ladies will battle Edo Queens in their next game. The Nigerians defeated AS Garde National of Niger with a 5-0 thrashing.
