Nicholas Opoku leaves Amiens for Kasimpasa in Turkish top-flight switch

Ghanaian centre-back Nicholas Opoku has secured a move to Turkish top-flight club Kasimpasa during the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old has inked a two-year contract with the Super Lig side after parting ways with French Ligue 2 team Amiens, where his contract recently ended.

Opoku, who was part of Ghana’s squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, is set to join his new teammates immediately as they prepare for the upcoming season.

In a statement released by Kasimpasa, the club shared, “Our new signing, Nicholas Opoku, has officially joined us after signing the contract during a ceremony at our Turgay Ciner Sports Facilities, following his medical examinations at our health sponsor, Liv Hospital Vadi İstanbul.”

With experience across some of the world’s top leagues, Opoku is anticipated to play a crucial role in strengthening Kasimpasa’s defence as they compete in the Super Lig.
