GFA to invest over GHC 3 Million in footballs for clubs ahead of 2024/25 season

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a significant investment of over GHC 3 million in footballs for clubs across both the topflight and lower divisions as the 2024/25 season kicks off in September.

This initiative, which builds on last season’s efforts, is designed to support club development and ease the financial strain on teams in acquiring essential equipment.

The announcement was made during the 30th Ordinary Congress held at the Ghanaian Soccer Center of Excellence.

GFA President Kurt Okraku revealed that the association has partnered with FIFA to invest $100,000 in the purchase of footballs for grassroots development.

“Football is all about balls. So our strategic plan is to collaborate with FIFA to invest $100,000 in the purchase of football for grassroots football development will be repeated.”

In addition to this investment, the GFA has committed another $100,000 specifically for colt clubs, highlighting its dedication to nurturing young talent and providing them with essential resources.

The Congress, which began on Monday, August 26, is set to conclude on Tuesday, setting the stage for the upcoming Ghana football season.
