Ghana Football Association(GFA) President Kurt Okraku says the football governing body frowns on hooliganism and are working to cleanse the act from Ghana’s football.
Speaking at a press briefing on Friday morning in Sunyani, the football Chief addressed reports that the FA’s top heriarchy has interest in appointing certain referees to hurt their enemies in the Division One League and Ghana Premier League.
“Under no circumstance should a referee lose his or her life for getting a decision wrong. Let’s take hooliganism in any form out of our game.
“The product is supreme. We should hold and protect the product.
Kurt continued: “The claim that I control or have interest in some referees are completely false and must be disregarded.
“It’s just a creation of a non-existent theory. The Executive Council stands for Ghana football and not for individual clubs.
“Whatever policies we take are for the greater good.”
The 2024/25 Ghana football season is yet to commence with most football fans raising doubts on the lack of headline sponsorship for the Ghana Premier League.
For the FA, they are still in talks with cooperate bodies for a new sponsor since BetPawa left the league.
