APOEL Nicosia sign Ghana’s David Abagna on three-year contract

APOEL Nicosia have completed the signing of Ghana international David Abagna from Sudanese club Al-Hilal on a three-year contract, the Cypriot side announced on Thursday.

The 25-year-old midfielder, who joined Al-Hilal two years ago, spent last season on loan at Moldovan club FC Petrocub, where he played a pivotal role in their remarkable league and cup double.

“David Abagna was born on Sept. 9, 1998, and can operate across all central midfield positions,” APOEL said in a statement.

“We welcome him to APOEL and wish him success in winning titles and achieving European success in the blue and yellow jersey.”

Abagna, capped by Ghana’s senior national team, will be with APOEL until May 2027.

His versatility and experience are expected to strengthen the Cypriot club as they aim for domestic and continental honours.
