2024 U-20 WWC: Ghana confirm final 21 Princesses roster for Colombia tourney

Ghana’s Black Princesses have announced their final 21-player squad for the 2024 Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup, as the team intensifies its preparations in Bogota, Colombia.

The squad, led by head coach Yusif Basigi, has been rigorously training at the Estadio Compensar since their arrival in Colombia last Tuesday, well ahead of the tournament’s kickoff.

The early arrival has allowed the team to acclimatize and focus on tactical strategies, physical conditioning, and team cohesion.

“The early arrival has given us a valuable window to fine-tune our preparations,” Basigi said.

“The players are in high spirits, and we’re looking forward to making a strong statement in this tournament.”

The Black Princesses will face Austria in their opening match on September 2, followed by group stage clashes against Japan and New Zealand.

With this year marking their seventh consecutive World Cup appearance, the team is determined to advance beyond the group stage for the first time.

Team captain Afi Amenyeku and her squad are poised for the challenge, with a unified goal to make Ghana proud on the global stage.

“We’ve prepared well and are ready to give our best. We know the expectations are high, and we’re fully committed to making history,” Amenyeku said.
