2024 U-20 WWC: Black Princesses depart Ghana for tournament in Colombia

The Black Princesses of Ghana left for Colombia, Tuesday evening ahead of the 2024 Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Led by the Management Committee, the Princesses will look the break their poor record of never qualifying for the knockout stages in the youth women’s competition.

The team will have two-weeks preparations in Colombia before the tourney commences.

Ghana battles in their group with Austria, Japan and New Zealand.

Head coach Yusif Basigi has experience with the team at thr global stage and the triumph at the 2023 African Games last March serves as a boost for the Princesses.

Ghana’s first game is against Austria on September 2, 2024 at 22.00 GMT.

However, the tournament commences on August 31 with France playing Canada, Cameroon against Mexico and Brazil facing Fiji.

Host nation Colombia will play Australia later in the same day.
