Sekondi Hasaacas Ladies recorded a statement in their 2024 Wafu B Women’s Champions League qualifier against Omnisports Etincelle on Sunday.
At the Stade de la Paix in Bouake, the Ghanaian champions laboured for the game’s opener against the resolute Burkinabe opponents right from the onset.
Assistant gaffer Emmanuel Kwesi Mensah paraded the ever-consistent Grace Banwah in goal while Mary Opoku Ndali and Abigail Sakyiwaa all started.
Hasmal were held in the first half to a goalless draw and in the second 45, Omnisports looked daring upfront.
Grace Banwah was called on duty in the 55th minute and she responded with an apt save to keep the game at a stalemate.
Both sides failed to cause any havoc in the remaining minutes as coach Mensah later recounted the tactical discipline of Omnisports in defence.
Hasaacas Ladies face Edo Queens in their next game of the tourney on Wednesday.
