2024/25 Caf CL: Samartex President Richard Nsenkyire unfazed by Raja Casablanca clash

FC Samartex President, Richard Nsenkyire, remains confident as his team prepares to face Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic in the second round of the 2024/25 CAF Champions League preliminary games.

Despite Raja’s formidable reputation as former champions, Nsenkyire is not intimidated by the challenge.

The Timber Giants will host Raja at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, September 13, before heading to Morocco for the return leg on September 20 at the Stade Larbi Zaouli.

Speaking in an interview with JoySports, Nsenkyire emphasized that his team is not swayed by big names.

“We are not moved by names; if it were just about names, we wouldn’t be where we are today,” Nsenkyire stated.

“Nobody gave us a chance when we played against Victoria United in Douala, but we secured victories both away and at home.

“I promise Ghanaians that they will witness some exciting football from us. We are taking it game by game; this is just another football match,” he said.

Before their encounter with Raja Casablanca, FC Samartex will compete against FA Cup winners Nsoatreman FC on August 31 in the Champion of Champions clash.

They will then kick off their Premier League campaign against Dreams FC next month.
