2024/25 Caf CL: Baba Kushibo elated with Victoria United scalp, focused on second leg

Baba Kushibo of FC Samartex 1996 is elated over his side’s win against Victoria United in the 2024/25 Caf Champions League.

The Timber Giants claimed a vital 1-0 first leg triumph with Emmanuel Mamah goal away in Cameroon on Sunday afternoon.

Samartex will now have to cap off their solid performance in the second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Kushibo speaking to the club’s media highlighted the significance of the win and switching focus to the second leg.

“This is a victory we must not take for granted. Being our first game in the continental scene, we feel excited and motivated to even do more in our mext match.

“We went into this game to win and we have been able to achieve a good result. This is a African game and there’s a lot of quality,  anything can happen at home.

“So we have to be ready for the second leg of this tie, finish the job we started well and move on to the next stage.”

Samartex hosts Victoria United in the second leg in the weekend of August 23-25.
