2024/25 Caf CC: Ghana FA Prez Kurt Okraku backs Nsoatreman FC in continental debut

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku, has thrown his weight behind Nsoatreman FC as they gear up for their maiden appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup.

During a visit to the club’s training session, Okraku emphasized the importance of focus and dedication as the team prepares to face Chadian side Elect Sport FC in the preliminary round.

“You carry the aspirations of over 30 million Ghanaians,” Okraku told the players and technical staff. “I urge you to maintain your focus and approach your training with seriousness.”

Highlighting the advantages of participating in continental competitions, the GFA chief assured the team of unwavering support from the association.

“Playing in Africa comes with enormous benefits,” he said. “It is my fervent hope and prayer that you will raise the flag of our country high as you embark on this adventure.”

Okraku also drew parallels with the recent successes of Medeama and Dreams FC, expressing optimism about Nsoatreman’s prospects.

“Medeama and Dreams did very well last time, and we’re confident about your journey in the CAF Confederation Cup.”

He concluded by reaffirming the GFA’s commitment to assisting the club: “The Football Association will continue to offer its support to you in the best way that we can to ensure you deliver for our people.”

Nsoatreman FC is set to host Elect Sport FC at the Accra Sports Stadium on 18 August 2024 for the first leg of the preliminary round. The return fixture is scheduled to take place in Yaounde on 23 August.
