Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of defensive midfielder Samuel Tenadu on a three-year contract, the club announced Wednesday.
Tenadu, who passed his medical examination in Kumasi earlier this week, is set to join the squad for the upcoming season with his contract running unil 2027.
A native of Obuasi, Tenadu began his football career with Ebony FC in Kumasi.
The 21-year-old made a significant impact last season with Legon Cities in the Ghana Premier League (GPL), making 30 appearances and earning multiple man-of-the-match awards.
Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, is enthusiastic about the new addition.
“Samuel is a fantastic young talent with immense potential. His defensive abilities and vision on the field will be a great asset to our squad. We believe he will play a crucial role for us this season,” Dr. Ogum said.
Expressing his excitement, Tenadu said, “I am thrilled to sign with the biggest club in Ghana.”
“Having spent a lot of time in Kumasi during my early football years, this feels like coming home. I am eager to get going.”
This signing marks Kotoko’s 11th acquisition of the current transfer window. The previous ten signings include Mohammed Camara, Patrick Asiedu, Esmat Abdulhamid Mohamed, AbdoelKarem AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub, Elvis Kyei Baffour, Emmanuel Antwi, Gilbani Samba, Joseph Ablorh, Dauda Saaka, and Albert Amoah.
