Ghana Premier League (GPL) record winners Asante Kotoko have bolstered their midfield with the signing of Emmanuel Antwi from relegated Accra Great Olympics.
The 24-year-old joins the Porcupine Warriors on a three-year deal, as announced by the club on Tuesday.
“We are pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Emmanuel Antwi on a three-year contract. Welcome,” Asante Kotoko posted on their socials.
Antwi is expected to provide creativity in the centre of the park following the departures of Richmond Lamptey and Eric Serge Zeze.
His arrival is a coup for Kotoko, having fended off interest from arch-rivals Hearts of Oak.
Antwi, whose contract with Olympics was expiring early August, negotiated an early release to secure his dream move.
The versatile midfielder made 57 appearances for Olympics in the Ghana Premier League, scoring seven goals – three of which were free-kicks – in the 2023/24 season alone.
Emmanuel Antwi played in various positions for Olympics, including central midfield, left midfield, left wing, and attacking midfield.
