Asante Kotoko sign Guinean goalkeeper Mohammed Camara

Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of 24-year-old Guinean goalkeeper Mohammed Camara on a two-year deal from Soar Academy.

This acquisition marks the club’s tenth signing of the current transfer window.

Camara, who made 26 impressive appearances last season for Soar Academy, brings both talent and experience to the squad.

Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum expressed his excitement over the new addition, saying, “Mohammed Camara is an outstanding goalkeeper with incredible talent. His agility, quick reflexes, and ability to command his area make him a perfect fit for our team. He comes highly recommended, and we are confident he will be a great asset to our club.”

Before finalizing his decision to join Asante Kotoko, Camara sought advice from his former club captain, Amos Frimpong.

“Amos had a lot of very good things to say about the club; the supporters, the supportive environment, and the ambition to achieve success. This convinced me that Asante Kotoko is the right place for me to continue my career,” Camara said.

Coach Ogum added, “Having him speak so positively about our club is a testament to the strong culture and unity we have here. We are happy and we believe with him, Frederick (Asare), and Fatao, we have a very solid goalkeeping group.”

Asante Kotoko has also secured nine other signings this transfer window, including strikers AbdoelKarem AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub and Elvis Kyei Baffour, midfielder Emmanuel Antwi, center-backs Gilbani Samba and Joseph Ablorh, winger Dauda Saaka, left-backs Esmat Abdulhamid Mohamed and Patrick Asiedu, and striker Albert Amoah.
