Sports Federations to pay for use of Borteyman Sports Complex – NSA Director

National Sports Authority Deputy Director Abdul Bawah Majeed says Ghana’s National Sports Federations need to pay a user and maintenance amount should they use of the Borteyman Sports Complex.

Speaking to Channel One TV, the government official made known the importance of maintaining the facility for subsequent national and international competitions.

The Borteyman Sports Complex has a 1,000 seater events hall that can accomodate most indoor sports disciplines.

Also, the complex has a 10-lane and 8-lane competition swimming pool with a 1,000 seater capacity.

“The last time we met with the federations we had an understanding, we will allow the federations to have access to the facilities at Borteyman but not for free.

“They will pay for it because if not for anything at all, whether we use it or we don’t use it, we pay for electricity, we pay for water, we pay for security.”

Bawah Majeed continued: “If you want to use it as your venue for training, that one it won’t happen…but for competition, yes, you will pay something for purposes of the utilities that we provide.”

The Borteyman Sports Complex was constructed for the 2023 African Games.

Ghana’s national football teams under the Ghana Football Association will need to pay should the teams feel the urgency to use the facility for recovery or engage their players in other sports disciplines.
