Ghana coach, Otto Addo has pleaded with Ghanaian football fans to remain calm in the quest to build an impressive football team for the future.
Addo’s remarks is after Black Stars’ remarkable fighting spirit in the 4-3 win over Central African Republic on matchday four of the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
At the Baba Yara Stadium on Monday night, Jordan Ayew scored a hat trick while Abdul Fatawu scored the other goal for Ghana.
Louis Mafouta also bagged a hat trick for the Wild Beasts with two goals in the first half and a delightful freekick in the closing moments of the game.
Having conceded three goals, Addo admits lot of work needs to be done on Ghana’s defence and has called for time and patient to fix the weaknesses.
“Rome wasn’t built in a day. It takes time to build a team and we will need time,” the 43-year-old told the press after the win.
“We have young players who grow and adapt. In winning games and conceding from our errors, we will learn and improve.”
Ghana currently sits top of Group I after four games, three points ahead of Madagascar and Comoros who have played a game less.
