Poor performing Kotoko and Hearts took the shine out of the league – Kudjoe Fianoo

Ghana League Clubs Association of Ghana President, Kudjoe Fianoo, says the poor display of Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko affected the following of the Ghana Premier League.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Akoma FM, Kudjoe Fianoo asserted the league’s poor public image with respect to performance on the door step of the two clubs.

“The abysmal run of Hearts and Kotoko have taken a lot of the shine out of our league,” he said.

“They are the big clubs in our league and have the numbers. And every league gets more attention from the locals when the big sides perform well.

“Imagine Kotoko and Hearts in the top four by match-week 30. The following and viewership will have improved.”

Asante Kotoko finished the league season in sixth position with 49 points while Hearts of Oak needed a dramatic 3-2 comeback win on the final day to survive relegation

FC Samartex claimed their maiden Ghana Premier League title with 61 points.
