Hasaacas Ladies clinch fifth Ghana Women’s Premier League title

Hasaacas Ladies are champions of the 2023/2024 Malta Guinness Ghana Women’s Premier League, after securing a narrow 2-1 victory over rivals Ampem Darkoa at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

This victory marks Hasaacas Ladies’ fifth league title, adding to their previous wins in the 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015, and 2020-2021 seasons.

The match saw an early breakthrough when Veronica Baa Kumah netted the opening goal for the Hasaacas Ladies in the 11th minute.

The team extended their lead shortly after, with striker Mukarama Abdulai scoring just three minutes later, giving them a comfortable 2-0 advantage.

Ampem Darkoa fought back in the second half with Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah scoring in the 73rd minute to bring the score to 2-1. However, their efforts were not enough to overturn the deficit.

With this victory, Hasaacas Ladies will represent Ghana in the next season’s CAF Women’s Champions League.

They previously reached the finals in 2021 and will now aim to navigate through the CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone B Qualifiers to secure their spot.
