Ghana moves up in FIFA rankings after World Cup qualifier victories in June

Ghana has significantly risen in the latest FIFA world rankings, moving up to 64th position globally.

This marks an important milestone for the Black Stars, who have also ascended to 12th place in Africa.

In the May rankings, Ghana ranked 68th in the World rankings and 16th in Africa.

The upward movement in the rankings comes after a period of stagnation and is driven by two crucial victories
in the World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana secured a 2-1 win against Mali in Bamako, followed by a thrilling 4-3 victory
over the Central African Republic in Kumasi.

These wins have not only boosted the team’s confidence but have also positively impacted their standing on the
international stage. This is the first notable climb for Ghana in the rankings in recent times, reflecting their
improved performances.
