Following their 2-0 victory over Benin today, the Black Starlets of Ghana have secured a place in the semifinals of the ongoing WAFU Zone B AFCON Qualifiers.
With a stunning flick past Benin’s goalie in the 19th minute, Mark Kagawa gave Ghana the lead.
In the 22nd minute, Ghana doubled their lead thanks to a goal by Ayamga Theophilus.
Both teams created chances in the second half, but they were unable to convert them, making it a nail-biter.
In just two games, Laryea Kingston’s team has scored seven goals and given up just one.
Ghana won group A with six points, advancing them to the semifinals. They now have to wait for their next opponent in the knockout round.
