Kotoko’s Baba Yahaya targets resurgence with Bechem United clash

Asante Kotoko midfielder Baba Yahaya is confident the club will return to winning ways in their 2023/24 Ghana Premier League game against Bechem United on Saturday.

In an interview with the club’s media, Asante Kotoko midfielder Baba Yahya expressed a strong determination to secure a victory in their upcoming match against Bechem United.

The Porcupines have gone four games without a win in their last league fixtures.

“We did not start the first round on a positive note, but we were the ones who changed the fortunes of the club, we have the responsibility to elevate our game and turn things around in the second round. I hope this transformation happens sooner rather than later.”

“What I can say is we will definitely come out victorious, even though they have the home advantage. It’s true that we haven’t won a game at that venue in a while, but the boys are filled with determination to change that.”

“What I can do to support the younger players is to offer them advice on avoiding anything that could harm the unity within and around the team. It’s important to prioritize unity and teamwork, as it plays a crucial role in our success.”

Yahaya continued: “I kindly request all our fans to understand that although the team is currently not in top form, their support is crucial.

“We hope they can continue to stand by us, just as they did in the first round. Our aim is to turn things around for the betterment of our esteemed club.”

The match-week 24 game will be played at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
