Fatawu Issahaku’s hat-trick powers Leicester to brink of Premier League return

Ghanaian forward Abdul Fatawu Issahaku scored a memorable hat-trick on Tuesday, leading Leicester City to a resounding 5-0 victory over Southampton at the King Power Stadium and tightening their grip on the Championship’s top spot.

With this triumph, the Foxes, who have amassed 94 points from 44 matches, now stand four points clear of their closest rivals Leeds United.

Leicester City need only three more points from their remaining two games to secure promotion to the Premier League for the 2024/25 season.

The lead was doubled in the 62nd minute by Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.

Fatawu Issahaku completed his hat-trick nine minutes from the end, bringing his season tally to six goals and 12 assists – an impressive contribution to Leicester’s journey.
