2023/24 CafCL: No need to postpone Medeama – Ahly game from Friday – Dr. Tony Aubynn

Medeama SC board chairman Dr. Tony Aubynn asserts that there is no need to postpone the CAF Champions League match against Al Ahly despite the latter’s request due to flight complications.

2023/24 CafCL: Al Ahly request postponement of Medeama clash in Kumasi

According to Dr. Aubynn, all arrangements have been made for Al Ahly to fly to Kumasi, the match venue, on Thursday.

“The flight time from Accra to Kumasi is approximately 40 minutes.”

“Al Ahly players are safe and in a hotel in Accra. They will fly only 40 minutes from Accra to Kumasi, the match venue.”

“There is no need to postpone the match,” Dr. Aubynn said in an interview on Egyptian TV.

The two sides now await Caf’s decision on Thursday whether the game will be rescheduled from Friday.

Ahly have bagged six points and top group D while Medeama lie bottom with two points.
