Asante Kotoko produced a solid performance to overcome Bofoakwa Tano in their match-week 17 Ghana Premier League fixture on Saturday afternoon.
Steve Mukwala’s brilliant brace propelled the Porcupine Warriors to a 2-0 victory at the Sunyani Coronation Park. This is Kotoko’s fourth win in their last five games and the eighth of the season.
Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum urged the Ugandan to lead his attack while Richmond Lamptey directed affairs in midfield.

Bofoakwa coach John Eduafo paraded Emmanuel Kobi in the goalpost while star man Saaka Dauda and Emmanuel Mwankurinah watched the start from the bench.

Mukwala showcased his goal-scoring prowess by capitalizing on a defensive lapse by Kobi and defender Kelvin Oppong in the 21st minute, to notch the opener for Asante Kotoko.
Ogum’s charges held on to the lead till half time and after the break, they got themselves involved in the midfield play.
The Ugandan international extended the lead in the 80th minute, securing a comfortable victory.
Midfield kingpin Richmond Lamptey provided the right pass after some good exchanges on the left of attack for Mukwala to net his 8th goal of the league campaign.

The hosts failed to get into the game as the Reds controlled the game till full-time.
Kotoko’s next fixture is against Heart of Lions away, who legendary Bashiru Hayford leads. Bashiru led Kotoko and Ashantigold to league titles in 2008 and 2015.
Bofoakwa heads to the road for their match-week 18 game against Dreams FC.
