Medeama SC ended their 2023/24 Caf Champions League matchday three clash against Young Africans in a 1-1 stalemate on Friday.

The Ghanaian champions took the lead from the penalty spot but failed to maintain the lead till halftime as Yanga drew level with a quick transition.

Medeama coach Evans Adotey started key man Jonathan Sowah while Daniel Lomotey and Derrick Fordjour supported from the flanks.

The duel began with the hosts in control of the game, dominating Yanga and creating chances in attack.

The Tanzanians settled in the game and began creating their play for the lead while Medeama continued their incursions in attack.

Continuing their pursuit for the opener, Medeama’s wingers stretched the pitch wide and looked threatening against their markers.

That resulted in Fordjour beating Dickson Job and in the process winning a penalty which Sowah converted in the 27th minute.

Yanga responded well in their play to net the equalizer and Pacome Zouazoua was the man in the 36th minute.

The Ivorian dispossessed Fordjour in the Medeama half and struck infront of the 18-yard box to level the scores.

In the second half, Yanga played better and could have netted the winner but an offside and missed opportunities hampered their plans.

Young Africans have now amassed 2 points while Medeama lie third with four points behind leaders Al Al Ahly on five points and CR Belouizdad also with four points.

The Mauve and Yellow will travel to Dar-es-Salaam for their next Caf Champions League game.
