Partey signals desire for January move from Arsenal as Juventus circle – report

Ghana international Thomas Partey has reportedly expressed his desire for a January departure from Arsenal, with Italian giants Juventus emerginpotential destination.

The defensive midfielder has been a stalwart for the Gunners since his £45 million move from Atletico Madrid four seasons ago. Currently with five goals in 104 appearances, he also played a crucial role in Arsenal’s thrilling title challenge last season.

However, according to reports from Tutto Mercato, Partey is now seeking a fresh start and has communicated his intentions to the Premier League giants.

This follows an almost enticing move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli during the summer transfer window.

Juventus, currently in resurgence in Serie A, are actively pursuing an anchorman and have set their sights on Partey. Despite interest from Turin, it’s suggested that the 30-year-old will explore other options before making a decision.

While the Partey is open to a move to Juventus, he reportedly prefers staying in the Premier League or a return to Spain. His spot in Arsenal’s starting XI appears uncertain following Declan Rice’s £105 million summer move.

Partey’s contract with Arsenal is set to expire in 2025, potentially limiting the club’s flexibility in the event of a suitable bid. His injury history, with over 50 missed matches due to nine separate setbacks in the last three years, might further influence Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s decision on the player’s future.
