Ampem Darkoa Ladies rose high to the challenge in their first game of the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League with a 2-1 triumph over AS FAR on Monday evening.
The Ghanaian champions got pegged back in the early stages after Najat Badri placed the Moroccans in the lead and had to go the extra mile to win.
But true to their coach’s promise ahead of their maiden game, Ampem Darkoa showed grit and quality to turn the deficit.
It was after the break that the Bono side won the game due to FAR’s resilience in the first half.
In the 57th minute, Comfort Yeboah found the equalizer with a bullet of a strike after a corner kick from the left side of attack.
