Tekpetey nets fifth season goal in Ludogorets win over Hebar 1918

Ghana’s Bernard Tekpetey notched his fifth goal of the campaign as PFC Ludogorets secured a 3-1 victory over Hebar 1918 in the 2023/24 Bulgarian First League on Sunday.

The 26-year-old forward wasted no time, opening the scoring for his team with a finely executed strike from inside the 18-yard box just 11 minutes into the game at the Huvepharma Arena Stadium.

Tekpetey’s early goal handed Ludogorets the lead, setting the tone for a dominant performance, which was further emphasized when Aslak Witry doubled the lead in the 37th minute.

Heading into halftime with a comfortable 2-0 advantage, the home side was in control, leaving the visitors struggling to find their footing.

Tekpetey, who had already seen midweek action, was substituted in the 64th minute to rest and recharge.

Hebar 1918 managed to pull one back in the 86th minute, with Stefan Tsonkov finding the net.

However, Ludogorets swiftly reasserted their two-goal lead as Rick Jhonathan scored just two minutes later.

In addition to his five-goal tally, Bernard Tekpetey has also provided two assists in his 11 league appearances this campaign.
