Michael Baidoo scores twice in IF Elfsborg triumph over AIK

Ghanaian midfield sensation Michael Baidoo shone on Monday with a superb performance, scoring twice to propel IF Elfsborg to a 3-0 victory over AIK.

This win solidifies their position at the summit of the Swedish Allsvenskan following matchday 27.

Baidoo, the 24-year-old maestro, wasted no time, opening the scoring in the 14th minute. His opportunistic interception in the final third, followed by a blocked pass that fortuitously returned to him, allowed him to drive a precise low shot past the opposing goalkeeper, securing an early lead for his side.

Johan Larsson added a second goal for Elfsborg, ensuring they entered halftime with a commanding 2-0 advantage.

Baidoo was not finished, sealing the win in the 79th minute with a coolly taken penalty. His clinical spot-kick completed a resounding victory for his team.

The result sees Elfsborg ascend to the pinnacle of the Swedish top flight, with only three games remaining in the season. They are closely pursued by Malmo, who trail by just two points on the league table.

Baidoo was replaced in the 87th minute, while compatriot Emmanuel Boateng also lasted the entire duration of the game for Elfsborg.

With his brace in this encounter, Baidoo’s season tally stands at an impressive five goals and six assists in 26 league appearances.

The exceptional performance did not go unnoticed, as Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton was present in the stands to witness Michael Baidoo’s brilliance.
