Kotoko must lead 2023/24 GPL after first round – Prosper Ogum

Asante Kotoko coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum says the club must win the remaining 2023/24 betPawa Premier League games.

The Reds have bagged nine points in their first six games of the domestic top-flight and are out of the top four spots.

On matchday six, Kotoko shared the spoils with Nations FC after a 2-2 result.

For Ogum, the target now is to win all the remaining games and top the league at the end of the first round.

“I think as far as point accumulation is concerned, myself and the players are not happy.

“If you look at it, it means we have given half of the points away.

“Looking at the games we have played and the creativity we have shown in front of goal, we shouldn’t be having 9 points,” Ogum told the club’s media.

“It is a learning curve, and looking at the remaining games, I think we should be able to win all these games.

“We will then be at the top, where Kotoko is always known to be and prove that we are the best.”

Kotoko will battle Bechem United in their next Premier League game at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
