Black Stars players lack commitment and play like Division Two teams – Frimpong Manso

Ghana football legend Frimpong Manso has criticised the current Black Stars, citing a lack of commitment in their games.

This criticism follows Ghana’s recent 2-0 defeat against Mexico and a 4-0 humiliating loss to the USA.

Frimpong Manso, known as a defensive stalwart for the Stars during the 1992 Africa Cup of Nations, is surprised at the level of passion shown by the team in the recent games.

“These current Black Stars players are not committed and not willing to sacrifice for the nation.

“They play like a division two side and struggle to defend against opponents,” Frimpong said in an interview with Time FM.

The nation will expect an improved performance from the Black Stars this November.

Ghana face Madagascar and Comoros in the first two matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Legends like Frimpong Manso will be hoping for an improved display by the senior men’s national team.
