Augustine Boakye renews contract with Wolfsberger AC through 2027

Austrian Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC has announced the contract extension of Ghanaian sensation Augustine Boakye by an additional two years.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has played a crucial role in his team’s performance in the early stages of the 2023/24 season, contributing significantly with five goals in total —comprising two goals and three assists—in the first nine games.

Boakye initially joined Wolfsberger from WAFA SC in the summer of 2021, with his original contract set to expire in 2025.

Given his remarkable progress and emergence as a first-team regular, the club moved swiftly to secure his services for an extended period, now prolonging his commitment until 2027.

In response to the contract renewal, Boakye expressed his gratitude on Twitter, saying, “I’m grateful to the club for this new opportunity. I’m happy to have extended my contract. Looking forward to creating more history with the team and to see what the future brings for us.”

Since joining Wolfsberger AC, Augustine Boakye has made 16 appearances for the second team and 37 appearances across all competitions with the senior squad. He has been instrumental in contributing 12 goals and providing 9 assists throughout his tenure.
