Ghana forward Iñaki Williams returned from international duty with a goal for Athletic Bilbao in their 3-0 win against Cádiz CF in the 2023/24 Spanish LaLiga on Saturday.
After a goalless draw against Mallorca before the international break, Athletic Bilbao were determined to win when they faced Cadiz on matchday five.
Although both teams couldn’t score in the first half, Athletic came back stronger after halftime.
They broke the deadlock with a goal from Gorka Guruzeta in the 66th minute. Just two minutes later, Asier Villalibre scored his first goal of the season, extending their lead.
Iñaki sealed the victory with a goal in injury time, securing a 3-0 win for Athletic Bilbao. This was his second goal of the season in five appearances.
Iñaki Williams aims to keep scoring as Athletic Bilbao pursues European qualification this season. Despite some criticism for his lack of goals with the Ghana senior national team, he hopes to replicate his good form in LaLiga for his country.
