Hudson-Odoi nets on debut as Nottingham Forest draw with Burnley

Callum Hudson-Odoi marked his Nottingham Forest debut with a memorable goal, securing a draw against Burnley in the Premier League on Monday night.

The visiting Clarets took the lead in the first half with a goal from Zeki Amdouni, who neatly finished a chance created by the lively teenager Luca Koleosho.

Swiss striker Amdouni, who had previously scored a winner against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup just 20 days ago, had already threatened with a powerful long-range shot before his composed finish.

However, Forest’s new signing, Callum Hudson-Odoi, had other plans.

On the hour mark, the potential Ghana international curled a spectacular strike into the top corner, leveling the score.

Vincent Kompany’s Burnley side believed they had clinched victory 12 minutes from time when Lyle Foster netted from close range, but the goal was disallowed due to a handball by Sander Berge during the build-up.

Burnley’s night took a bad turn when their top scorer, Foster, received a red card for violent conduct in injury time, following an unnecessary off-the-ball elbow on Ryan Yates.

This result allowed Burnley to secure their first point of the season after three consecutive defeats, while Nottingham Forest has made a decent start to the campaign with seven points from five games.

Nottingham Forest next travel to Treble winners and league leaders Manchester City on Saturday, September 23.
