Ghana is set to host Rwanda in the second leg of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) first-round qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday.

The Black Queens hold a commanding lead after winning the first leg 7-0 in Kigali and are in prime position to progress to the next round.

Speaking to the media, Nora Häuptle commended the players for their sound decision-making during games, stating:

“I can say the secret behind the gradual improvement of the team is putting in a lot of work. I need to congratulate the players for making the right decisions on the pitch.’’

She emphasized the role of her competent staff, their professional game analysis, and individual discussions with players. She expressed pride in the team’s ability to secure clean sheets and execute their game plan effectively.

“We are proud that we scored so many goals and even more proud to have clean sheets.

Our game plan worked, and the players transmitted it very well,” Nora remarked.

When discussing their approach, she added: “We have a plan which we slightly adapt, and of course, we also position players well to function well in our games.”

With all 23 players in good physical condition and ready to perform on Tuesday, Nora Häuptle noted that the starting lineup would be determined during their pre-match meeting, considering the impressions from their last training session.

The game is scheduled for 16:00 GMT, as the Black Queens seek to secure their place in the final round of the 2024 Women’s Afcon qualifiers with another strong performance against the She-Amavubi.
